Chicks Dig Comb Overs
I am reviewing three components from my Victoria Wax Mystery Package - Lite Cleanse, Concours Wax and Quick Detail.
Who is doing the review: I am a relative novice who has been detailing my own cars about 10 months now. I do not have a lot of experience with wax since I always used sealants until 10 months ago. I find that I typically prefer the look of a quality sealant. Here's my car.
Packaging: Top quality. Good labels with useful instructions. Lite Cleanse and Quick Detail were sealed with an orange plug so no leaks in shipping. :bigups Everything was sealed it it's own zipper close plastic baggie.
Value: Great for the Mystery Package. I paid $48 Canadian for all this plus some Super Soap which I have not used yet and a cotton buffing cloth.
Lite Cleanse Usage: It's milky liquid - a bit thin. Instructions say to apply by hand with fingertips. Allow to sit for 30-60 seconds. Rub in with cotton cloth. Remove with a buffing cloth. I applied with fingertips, allowed to sit, rubbing in with microfiber applicator and removed with MF buffing cloth. It's fun - like fingerpainting. Only issue was that my "applicator" kept gumming up. I found that I must wipe my hand after application while Lite Cleanse was sitting to avoid this problem. Lite Cleanse left a nice look - kinda like a light coat of oil - only without the greasiness of oil. Smells faintly of licorice or anise.
Concours Usage: Ah, Teresa Parrish - my seventh grade girlfriend who used strawberry kissing potion lip gloss. Concours smells just like that. :hah It's applied with fingertips too. Big fun but a bit slow. Very easy on. Buffs off easy enough but it is not a wipe on/wipe off product. I put on three coats in about an hour.
Quick Detail Usage: More anise or licorice smell. It's thin white spray. Super fine sprayer. Easy on and easy off.
The Results: Lite Cleanse is a keeper as well as the QD. The buffing cloth was very disappointing. I will be using that as a bar towel in my basement. Concours is very clear. Not a trace of oilness. It really brought out the green and the metallic in my car far better than anything else I've used - wax or sealant. It's not really glossy. But it does have a satin shine too it. The shine was brought out a little by the QD. It's a deep look but it is not a wet look. Concours is not a wax to hide things. In fact, it seems to be just the opposite. Everything in the paint - good and bad appears to be amplified. It's a unique look. I love the clarity, depth and color highlights. Unfortunately, my car is not perfect and I need a little bit of masking on some of those imperfections. I'll keep Concours around but it will not be my main stay product until I get some more of the chips and scratches resolved.
