Vesco Oil- Substitutes for a few products?

Question for all of you detailers familiar with Carbrite/Automagic/Vesco Oil.

When I used to detail frequently on the side, and at a bodyshop. We used to use products from Vesco Oil called "Pro Blue" and "Red stuff" (can be found here ccc-9 | Car Chemicals). Well I've been out of the loop for a few years now, and before I call up my old Vesco Oil rep (or track down a new one) I've got a couple of questions about the products.

For those of you with experience USING either. What are your opinions of them? Do you think they work well? Is there something else on the market comparable or better performing? I really used to like how powerful the Red Stuff was for engine bays and wheels. I also liked how well Pro Blue would remove bugs and tree sap. We honestly didn't really dilute either product at the body shop much if at all, so that may be why I thought they worked amazing. (Definitely couldn't use either in an undiluted state on really soft or old paint. It would stain)

Also- Does anyone have experience with "Body Prep Solvent MC24V-G (P)" (also from Vesco) and can they recommend a suitable replacement for it. This stuff used to work wonders on removing grease stains in interiors or adhesives. Coupled with Foam Away you could clean damn near anything from an interior surface without needing to bust out the extractor (which I no longer have access too).

Thanks for the help. I'm really looking forward to getting back into detailing. I washed my girlfriends new car yesterday and waxed it with Natty's Blue and the smell reminded me of the good old days of spending hours upon hours hunched over polishing paint, and banging knuckles on seat rails scrubbing carpet.

I use Car Brite, Pro, and Auto Magic stuff at work but haven't heard of Vesco. Car Brite would suit your needs just fine. Hot Stuff or Blue Max would do your engines and both have high dilution ratios, Beetle Juice or Bug Away would do your bugs, and they both dilute 14:1, Their body solvent is called Take Off and is the safest solvent Ive ever used. It can be used on interiors without damaging anything (glue on a dash, shoe scuffs on door sills). Xtra Duty is their interior foam and is by far the best dry foam on the planet. Im NOT crazy about their correction/protection products with the exception of their paint sealant. I've used their stuff for years with great results.

^ word. Thanks for the information.

I might give that Xtra Duty a try once I run out of Foam Away- though I've got like 2 cases of Foam Away still. That stuff has blown my mind with how well it cleans interiors, if theres another dry foam that works even better... I feel like it should be illegal or a controlled substance that you need a prescription for :P

I'm pretty confident Carbrite and Vesco are the same company to some degree. Vesco sells Carbrite stuff and has the brand listed on their main webpage. I'm definitely going to look into the products you recommended. Especially if they are similar to what I've used in the past. I always had great success with the stuff in the shop. Also agree with you on the paint correction products being so-so. Though I learned how to polish with a Rotary using wool pads/black 3m foam pads, and carbrite compounds :)
