It seems like after using a pad a couple times the velcro on them doesn't work well any more. Should this be happening? How can it be prevented?

What backing pad are you using ?
If its the Megs one, it aint the pads that aint sticking, but the backing pad
I have the same problem, talked to Mike at Megs and he said they know about an exisitng problem and are dealing with it.

someone has confirmed that Meguiar's do have an issue with the W64DA.
Mine failed just after 6 hours of use (if that even)! Pads just kept a flying.
Phew.... I was starting to think it was me! The 3M Hook It is sooo much better but unfortunately, a tad bit on the big side and slightly more $$$. But hey, the $5 extra I'll make back on saved Advil tablets in just one use LOL

Yeah its the meguiar's one. But if i put a different pad on it then the new pad will stick very well.
