here are some pics from a job I did last weekend. The Jetta was extremely dirty inside, took me almost three hours for just the inside, I had to scrub every inch, used many q-tips. The leather went from light gray to yellow. Outside I clayed (pinnacle), then DACP, VM, UPP. This is a killer combo on both light and dark cars. The VM adds depth and wetness to UPP that AIO doesn't. I used aio on the wheels and black saphire on the tires. I used 303 on the inside. Not the best pics but I think you can get the idea.

As I see on the interior, you proved me what I knew before, 303 it's supposed to give a matt finish, but it doesn't, it's satin, a bit shine. This is why I use 1Z cockpit premium, NEUTRAL!

What's that smell?
The Jettas are great cars if you don't need a back seat. The front dimensions are virtually the same as the Passat, but the car is about 7" shorter. Big trunk, plenty of power with the 1.8 turbo and a very solid ride. Definitely a poor-man's 325. The only thing I don't like is the velour seats- damn things are like velcro and attract every piece of lint, pet hair, dust and everything else you can think of. Leather for the next one. A good vacuum is a must for these cars. Glad it's leased.
Reasons i don't like vw's
There are at least two covers over everything.....
There at least four tabs holding down every cover with only one or two screws so you inevatlby break off at least one tab every time.....
EVERYTHING on these cars is VERY expensive to replace......
They are very plasticy. Every thing is made of plastic making them fragile. On my dad's jetta the glove box broke 6 times in the first 60k miles. (all covered under warenty though)
The power window regulators are prone to falure on earlier years and no offical recal was made even though you can get it replaced for free at the dealer.....
The breaks they use are VERY dusty. In a weeks time more dust can acumulate than on three months on any of my vehicles.....
Body role is horrendous! It's quite nimble and agile with a short wheel base and all, but i feel like i'm going to role them whenever i try and have fun driving one.......
When they get in an accident over 20mph they are totaled almost without question......
I"ve seen a Jetta VR6 that got into a 25 mph crash and one of the engine mounts sheered right off the block!!!!!
The computer systems are VERY temprimental......
Other than all that i think they are fabulous cars and if they fixed all those i'd love to have one.
I understand most people will never have to deal with half this crap but I'm a bodyman/detailer and I work on these all too often. It's not fun. My dad also owns one and has had to get it surrviced for things just falling apart from regular use several time (20+).

One thing about German cars is the electrical. Come to think of it, British cars have crappy electrics too! Bosch just doesn't hold a flame to japanese dependability.
I agree with the 303 comments. Just used it yesterday for the first time. Other than a plastic gloss to it, the 10 year old dash looks unbelievable. Should have done before and after pics on it though! Anyways, how long will it look this good and will the old tired chalky look return?
