V-Rod Anodized Aluminum

Tacoma

New member
I just bought a V-Rod with the Anodized Aluminum "tank." and raw aluminum wheels. Recommendations on what to clean the anodized tank?

Also, what about the raw aluminum wheels?

Chrome?

Thanks, very new at all this, but I want to make sure the bike stays pristine!

anodized or raw aluminum i would prolly jst use a normal billet/aluminum polish and/or use Zoops sealant....stuff works great in my experience....

as for chrome.....its like paint, treat it like paint!....has a clear coat so use like a quick detailer or such on it

I had a V-Rod. Get some Mother's Billet Polish from your local auto parts store. Make sure it's the one that says Mother's Incredible Billet Polish, NOT the one in the bright red jar, but the darker red/black/clear jar.

As for the skins, just use mild soap and water. For the chrome, use a mild chrome polish (Mother's is good stuff) and a soft terry cloth applicator and buff with a microfiber cloth. Keep the chrome sealed, just like you would paint.

Check out www.v-rodforums.com for more information.

You might also check out the S100 line at your local Harley dealer. They make a product for just about every surface on your bike from washing to protecting. I would be careful what you use on the anodized surfaces though, some polishes specifically state not to use them on anodized surfaces.
