using vinegar in the rinse

I already know that people do this to remove any left over soap residue, but does this make the towels softer too? Also, does this work with cotton towels or just microfiber?

III,

I think with everything. I believe I recall DF Towel saying vinegar is a sort of natural fabric softener.

Thanks people for the replies so far. What if someone were to use more than one cup? Would it hurt the towels or would it just be a waste of product?

no actually it doesnt. that was the main concern that my mom had about me adding vinegar to my mfs, and its pretty much odorless when it comes out

Be sure you are using White Distilled Vinegar, nothing else! Use about a tablespoon per towel in the rinse. Since most people use way too much detergent the vinegar allows all fabrics to shed any excess in the rinse. This allws the fibers to be truly shed of any detetergent which in turn makes them "feel" softer. Distilled vinegar is the oldest and best "fabric softener" there is. You can use it on everything in your wash with great results... and no, no vinegar smell. By the way, it is also a natural disinfectant for all around the house... mix 1/3 vinegar - 2/3 water and wipe down kitchen counters, sinks, toilets, etc.

i heard this household tip of using vinegar in your dishwasher as opposed to more expensive Jet Dry rinse aid. I actually wait till the bottle of Jet Dry is half full then top with white vinegar...seems to work. but then again i'm pretty cheap and always looking for different approach.

would this work with a pressure washer (Lg bottle of vinegar in the dispenser)

I have also heard of adding Baking soda to the wash water as well ... What are the advantages of this.... .

Some other things Ive heard!

Adding either olive oil/or vegitable oil to the solution...

Fabric softener...

I have never tried any of these but I figured I would ask while we were on the topic of adding things to our wash buckets!
