Using two different polishes?

Hi guys. i tried searching everywhere but I just couldn't find an answer.



Heres my question:

Would I be able to use SSR 2.5 on a fairly swirled paint and then use menzerna IP and/or menzerna nano polish to finish it off? As opposed to using ssr 2 then ssr 1 after the 2.5 (i dont have ssr 2,1).



I have all the pads that are sold by detailed image as well (they are 6.5", with 6" backing plate) and im using a PC 7424XP.



If that combo is allowed, what pads would you recommend on fairly swirled paint.

First off you can use any brand compound/polish with any other brand polish/compound.



With the product and pad selection you have to test it out for yourself, use the least aggrasive and go from there. Depending on how bad the swirls are/ how deep and how hard the paint is that will determine what kind of combo you will need and no one can give you a dead on product and pad combo without testing it out on the car first.



Just do a small area and inspect and go from there.

I think im going to start off with the IP on orange pad with a speed of around 4-5, see if that does the trick and then finish off with a nano polish on white pad.



if needed, ill do ssr 2.5 with whatever pad i feel is needed.



Also, since i only have 1 of each pad, if i decide to use ip on white pad, may i also use nano on white pad too, or is just pointless b/c of the ip already being absorbed into the pad.
 
You should really have more than one pad but since you dont you might have to clean them while you polish because they will most likely get filled with polish. What I do is have a 5 gallon bucket handy with a microfiber cleaner in it and take the pad and wash it with your hands in the bucket then put it back on the machine and spin it but make sure to hold it in the bucket so it does not make a mess. This will get the majority of the polish out and it will come out 99% dry so you will be able to use it with a different polish or the same polish to continue to finish the car.



But make sure you get more pads incase they rip or you drop them while you are polishing the car but for now you can get by with doing what I said.



Also the pads/polishes you are going to use sounds about right good luck and happy detailing.

Sounds like you have a good plan but I will just recommend that you

purchase multiple pads. Nothing more frustrating than needing a new pad

during the middle of a detail. I use a handful of each for every detail I do.



The effectiveness of you polish will take a major hit if you are using a clogged

or dirty pad.
