Using the PC to remove wax/buff ?

Just bought my 7336 yesterday. Haven't used it yet, but I've read the HOF posts as well as the articles at BCC and there seems to be some difference of opinion about using the PC to remove the final topper.

What are the advantages/disadvantages to using the PC in this step? If I use it, which pad/bonnet should I use?

Depending on the vehicle, I'll be using NXT or PS as the final topper.

I'll be using the standard clay/polish/seal/topper regimen that's recommended here.

This forum has taught me a lot, thanks for all the knowledge that has floated downstream.

I find that time is the biggest downfall of using the PC to remove final toppers . I prefer to use good ol hands to do this, just because it saves *ME* time. I havent tried the NXT but if you are using P21s it comes off so easily I dont see the need for the PC, plus you have those spots that you need to do by hand anyways (where the PC doesnt fit)

I think you can get some MF type bonnets that fit the PC from topoftheline.com...I think...im to lazy to go and look right now.

I like removing by hand. Something about taking off your hard work with your hands, feeling the smoothness with your fingers through the MF, using your fingers to get into small areas...well, you get the idea.

OK, I'll give the other side ;)

I like removing LPS with the PC/Cyclo. I started doing it my machine when shoulder problems were interfering with my detailing, and I found I really liked it.

I get the best results with Meg's Ultimate Bonnet and TOL's Suede-style MF ones. I use the CMA suede-style bonnets to remove thin sealants like KSG. I change my bonnets frequently and I never turn them inside out to use the other side. I generally use them over foam cutting pads, as opposed to over wool.

*I* like the motion of moving the machine better than the motion of moving a cloth, and I believe I get a more "burnished" job. It's not like I go over an area a few thousand times per minute when working by hand!

I never had a *problem* removing LSPs by hand, but, well, I just like machine-removal better. Especially with the Cyclo- heh heh, I think I sorta look for excuses to use that thing, I like it so much.
