i've been using my PC with SSR 2.5 at speed 6 with yellow cutting pad and still can't get all the swirls out. is it because i don't damp the pad first, or is it because it start using it at 6 right away? it really starts to dust when i hit it at 6

thanks

The deeper scratches and swirls need to be polished out real slow. Make sure your passes are at a very slow speed. The speed 6 is ok, although I warm it up first with a laydown pass at 4, then again at 5, then slow the pace down at 6. You maybe could have gotten your results quicker with something a little more aggressive like SSR 3? Then cleaned up with something like 2.0 and green ?

I am having the same problem on that 1955 chevy that is in click and brag. I will go with a yellow cut pad and start on 5 and move to 6. Then go wiht a polish pad and ssr1 and do the same. No luck

I don't think you're supposed to prime when using SSR2.5, so that isn't it. How much pressure are you applying and how fast are you moving the PC? When I first got my PC I was moving it much too fast and was applying too much pressure, most people seem to apply too little.

I would put enough pressure that you're almost stopping the pad from spinning at full speed, but not quite, and move very, very slowly. Also, I would try speed 5 since speed 6 flashes SSR2.5 very quickly, and if you're moving slow it might be too quickly to get the entire area you're doing.

i'm apllying some pressure and using not to much product, i already passed with yellow pad and part of the swirls got out, now i'm starting with orange pad and SSR 2.5, starting at speed 1 to spread the product, then speed 4 and finally speed 5. i got almost all of the swirls out, but there are still some let, what should i do?

Haven't used the SSR line, but most people underestimate how hard it is to remove marring with a PC. You might try using 4" pads, they keep the PC from bogging down when you apply pressure.

In addition, the PC should be moving at about 1/2-1" per second when removing swirls.
