Using PC on Bumber and Headlight?

Hi, can I use a PC on the Bumber guard (2004 Camry) and also headlights that turned "foggy"? If yes, do I still use the same pads and polishes or compound as I would do for the body?

you learn something new everyday..I never thought to use it on bumpers..it makes sense to me. what kinda of look would you get (depth/reflection)?

We use the PC on "everything" paint, bumpers, glass, headlights, tail lights. As for the headlights, I would approach it the same way as paint, start with the least aggressive set-up and go from there. It is not uncommon for me to hit the exterior windows and plastic lenses with the PC during the polish stage to clean them up and remove micro scratches.

I would have to assume that any painted plastic pieces are softer than the metal surfaces. This is because I noticed when I did my mirrors with the PC that they were much easier to get the swirls/scratches out of. I assume this would be due to the flex additives they use.

I can somewhat agree with that on the mirrors and bumper covers, but I had a tough time on the plastic cladding on the sides of my Escalade. Still have some micro scratches. I had to put some extra effort in to get those out. The metal painted surfaces were no problem though.

I have used the PC on everything including the vinyl stripes on my car just do what wetwerks stated above.

my fave goto for polishing out lens would have to be PB's Pro Polish always does the job for me.

as a side note use old pads b'cause some headlights have bumps on them and they rip the crap outta the pad.

PC with a 4 inch white polishing pad does a nice job on the headlights. unless the headlights are super yellow, I will use FPll or 106FF on them, gets them clear as new and shiny lol if they are real bad ssr2.5 will get rid of the dull ones, on the bumper anything from FPll to IP. follow with some Prime and you have one serious shine. did not know that not many people do this. my clients always remark on how they can see their reflection in their bumper. for painted mirrors Prime or PS works nice then seal with AJT. please take note when doing mirrors I always support the underside of the mirror with one hand. I do not press hard either. hope this makes sense. here is a couple before and afters with PS and Trigger
