using ONR to prevent spotting?

OK, I know that ONR has softeners in it that help with spotting and such, so I got to thinking about using ONR in my foam gun to rinse my car off along with adding some to my wash bucket.

Since the water here is do bad, and until I can get a filtration system I'm just trying to come up with ideas.

If I were to try it, what would I set the foam gun on? A,B,C? I would just dry it after that.

Thoughts?

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I don't see the foamgun getting the ONR solution into the nooks/crannies that retain water and thus lead to much of the streaking/spotting issues; the output isn't so much "foam" IMO but it's still frothy enough that I just don't think this (inventive!) idea's gonna pan out.

Eh, I guess I can't comment on the softening abilities of such stuff as my water is softened anyhow...maybe it's a better idea than I think.

For the dilution, IMO you'll have to do the math- what's the "rinseless wash" dilution for ONR (I forget..), what do the foamgun's dilution settings mean in terms of ratios? Then figure out whether it's best to fill the foamgun with a strong mix and use a weak dilution setting or vice-versa.

I wasn't really thinking so much about the foam gun to try to make foam. I would still wash in a traditional way of course. Just rinse it with the foam gun w/ONR mix.

I've got to do something, the spotting is so out of control here.
