Using Diesel Oil for tar/road grimes removal?

Hi, I want to know whether it's safe to use Diesel Oil on today car's paint to remove difficult road grimes, tars and bugs? I've tried once on my white car and it worked perfectly but I don't know whether it will damage my pain in the long run. I wipe on the dirty areas with a diesel-wet cloth and then wipe off with another wet cloth. After finishing the whole car, I wash the whole body again with a car shampoo.

Next, Is it also safe to use diesel as a degreaser to clean engine room? I've seen many detailers using diesel to clean engine room and they seemed fine. Please advise me.

Diesel is designed to power cars and trucks, not clean them. The same is true of gasoline. You need a degreaser. I like Zep Citrus Degreaser because it's so mild and safe on all surfaces.
