Using Castrol Super Clean Degreaser for mags...

OK..Thsi is not me..
Someone asked on a sportbike motorcycle forum that I am a member of, how to clean their bike wheels..

I directly told the posting member to refrain from these products because they are super strong and there is no way they are clear coat safe...at least not in my opinion and the instructions warn so much about clear coatsnot being safe with these degreasers. etc..
Isn't that right? Are these guys nuts for using these 2 products for their wheels..

Hey Tarios.

I have used Castrol Super Clean Degreaser before and it is pretty harsh. I had a spray bottle size, and I used for engine degreasing. I did wet down all of the paint on the fenders and hood prior to using it, and it still caused some serious marking. I had to go back and use DACP and then polish and wax just to remove the staining. I'm glad it was just on my car and not someone elses.
I have not used it on mag wheels, but after seeing what it did to the paint I would not take that chance.

That's exactly how I used it for engine cleaning...Never on paint or wheels..
