Used some paste Souv; found out I'm kinda hooked on a little bit of cleaner!

I haven't broken out the Souv for a long time; I really enjoy the look and ease of use of Meguiar's products. But it's been the topic of a number of threads lately, so I decided to give it a go, over top of a 6 week old application of #21.

The #21 was beading as if I had just applied it yesterday. This car has been sitting outside and been used as a daily driver since June 1st. I definitely like the look and durability of #21. It's not super deep, but it is wet and shiny.

So I washed, dried and started applying the wax. What I found was that I've become used to my wax picking up minor waterspotting and occasional tar and bug spots. Souv bring a pure wax coating, it waxes right over these things of course!

Now, before you excoriate me for waxing over bugs and tar: I wash and wax so frequently that these almost always blow off with a burst of the hose. When I use the cleaner part of the Meguiar's wax to remove minor imperfections, I grab another applicator afterward. I typically use 3 or 4 applicators per waxing.

It's just an observation. The point I'm trying to make is that cleaners themselves aren't bad. You can be an Autopian and like mild/slight cleaners in your products, if you use the products as intended; your car will still look great.

Of course it will look great if you use an LSP without cleaners, too!

I understand where you are coming from.

Bug guts come right off with NXT and a polishing pad.

I try to clay these things off, or QD them with a MF though.

I agree, Tom.

I use a cleaner LSP after every wash around my exhaust area. I tend to accumulate some soot there due to a free flowing exhaust so it allows me to test out the potency of cleaning LSP's :D.
