Used my old Turtle wax tonight.

OK, my work truck is a '99 and I think that I may have waxed it once or twice since I bought it "new" in Jan of '99.

Since it's just a work van, I decided to use a can ot Turtle wax that I had in my garage. It cleaned up a lot of the tar and stains on the paint, and it actually looks pretty good. There are water spots all over the finish if you examine it very closely but most people probably woundn't notice it.

Now that I'm on this detailing binge, I'll probably clay it later this spring and give it a nice coat of AIO followed with some NXT. :D

Now that my van looks so good, I'm going to have to raise my prices. :D

Yeah, just a good washing, dried with MF and applied the Turtle wax. I have never cleaned the top of the van.:scared

I really have to get up on a ladder tomorrow sometime and clean and wax the top. I saw a couple of small spots where there is some rust beginning to start. It's not noticeable from the ground but I don't know how I should address that problem. I plan on keeping my van now with 144,000 miles on it for at least another 100,000 miles. Maybe some sanding, primer and touch-up paint?

Web Docta, while you were doing your TA thing with your 99 I was applying TW's Tire wax to my freshly washed tires this evening.

Someone mentioned that TWTireWax had been discontinued and no longer available, however, I found it at an auto parts store near me and decided to try it. (You know, our (autopians) need to keep trying detailing products!)

Initial impression is that it makes the tires dark and leaves a very bright sheen, but this will have to be confirmed after the light of day tomorrow !

Long live Turtle Wax !!!

Long live Turtle Wax !!!

It must be something in the air today....I haven't used Turtle Wax in years.

Maybe Turtle Wax will make a comeback, after all it was THE most popular wax around years ago. :D

I have to admit, I too used an old can of Turtle Wax the other day. I went to grab my NXT and couldn't quite reach it. I found if I stood on the can of Turtle Wax I could reach everything on the top shelf.

Very funny blktaurus !:p

C'mon, admit it, you're dying to get your hands on a can of Turtle Wax and do a LSP on your ride!!!

If you tried the turtle ultra it would be the other way...... using the can of NXT paste to reach for the turtle ultra :p

I am quite surprised of how the image of "TW is bad" has kept many users away from the turtle ultra. On the other hand, good marketing and the fact that many people like the products of the brand explains why there are droves of NXT fans. Having used both, I still consider the turtle ultra superior to NXT (not as shiny, but looks deeper, applies and removes easier, cleaners are weaker and is quite cheaper....) Oh, well, as we would say here "Mientras menos burros, más olotes" (Less donkeys, more corn cobs.....) :nixweiss
