Used my new foam gun for the 1st time

I finally used my new foam gun and I really liked it. I mainly just played with it to get accustomed to it. I disconnected the trigger from the canister a couple of times to rinse off the car and I realized that I really need a disconnect so I can use my other sprayer. Twice when I connected the canister back to the trigger it popped off. Once I almost caught it but knocked it into my towel container but the second time it hit the ground (at least it didn't break anything and I was far enough away from the truck that it didn't hit it). After the second time I started making sure I had it connected together before I started trying to spray. I thought it might be a little too bulky and heavy to get used to but it really wasn't bad at all. I can't wait to use it again :)

Most people will ditch the spray nozzel and use a thumb type shut off with quick disconnects ans/or a second hose. I just keep my rinse nozzel in the rinse bucket and switch from the foam gu to the rinse as often as I need to. Have fun with the gun, I have had people stop from the road when I use mine wondering what that "thing" is.

I'd get brass ones instead of plastic. Get two sets and a shutoff valve. Put the disconnects on both sides of the shutoff, that way everything will rotate freely.

Where's a good, cheap place to get disconnects?

i bought mine at home depot. you can get them just about anywhere (lowe's, home depot, sears, wal-mart, etc..) and they cost around $5. just make sure to get the brass ones as accumulator has pointed out and you'll be good to go....

If you have a Harbor Freight near you they have a quick connect kit for like $5.00. Its all brass and has 2 quick disconnects and 4 male ends.

I need to head to wal-mart tomorrow so I'll probably pick up the brass disconnects then. I'll get to test it out again when I wash my other car.

I can only imagine what they are thinking. maybe they think your car is on fire and you have to put it out with foam ? :chuckle:
