Used Glasur for the first time!

I didn't resist this deal after reading all this time how good Glasur is.

I used it this weekend on my recently detailed EOS (http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/137020-vw-eos-semiannual-paint-care-session.html)

I prewashed with 1Z antiinsekt, washed with DG901 and dried with WW.

Then I started waxing with Glasur and LC red UFO pad. I covered the whole car as thinly as I could, leaving it on only for 1-1,5 minutes following the jar instructions. I also did for the first time hand waxing. This was done in the front and rear bumpers. I was saving it for a special wax and I was not disappointed.

Some generic comments first of all on form and packaging.

- The jar itself is plain not exuding a special sense of exclusivity. It is also not straight forward to close the lid as it takes a bit of alignment. I like more S100's jar. On the other hand, the certificate and satin pouch do offer that air of class. Does anyone know what is the benefit of completing the certificate and sending it back to Zymol as it is proposed on the back of it?

- On the texture and smell a whole different story. The smell leaves no hint of petrol like the S100 or FK1000p, but instead a perfume like feeling. Texture is very similar to S100, but the color of Glasur is more white.

Moving on to the application.

- The pad application had no issues with on off. A little 'bite' initially on my yellow eurow mf towel but no striking/residue left. Compared to S100 concours (similar paste form wax) it was the same performance. A lot easier against my RG55 (the grainier texture of RG55 puzzles me).

- The hand application (this is the only wax I have applied by hand) was an absolute treat in all aspects. I was afraid to do it till now mainly because of concerns about the effect on my skin and less about using more product or causing marring through rough skin. Having read many people mentioning no issue with their skin, I thought I will go for it. I am glad I did. Next time I will go for the whole of the car.

On the possitive. No issues with my skin, quicker coverage of area, greater control over the application, a lot thinner layering, easier to buff off, not having to worry about cleaning the applicator and of course great bonding feeling with the car.

On the negative. Slightly more product used. But realistically the 8oz jar, even with monthly hand waxing, will definitely last at least 1 if not 2 years. For me that is good VFM on 100 bucks for a premium product.

Finally on looks. I saw a difference as opposed to the look of OS alone or topped up with FK425. Instead of the crisper mirrory reflections Glasur brought about depth and warmth to the look. It added almost something like an extra clear coat feel. Comparing it to S100 or RG55, I cannot make out any discernible difference that I can comment on. Slickness to the touch also the same as expected.

Beeding, sheeting and durability remain to be checked. I plan to top up with DG QW instead of FK425.
