Use by dates - any advice?

Just noticed on my bottle of 3m IHG a use by date of july '04.



Now, I'm never gonna use 1000ml in that time, and i was wondering what happens to the product after the use by date - does it become less effective, become totally useless... or what.



Any ideas,

those are just calculations. It could still be good, or it could be bad. Try it when the time comes.
