Urgent new paint questions.....

Alright guys, just got my 98 GS-T back from the paint guy after 6 long weeks(hurricaner damage). The entire car got a repaint, and looks rather good too. I just have a few questions:

1. What should I wash it with, and how often? (I wanna keep the surface as clean as possible, without overdo-ing it.

2. How long should I wait before polishing/waxing?

3. And the most important one- I have my first paint chip. I have do drive 30 miles to work and back daily, so this was almost unavoidable. A rock flew up this morning and hit the edge of my hood panel(fragile area!)- and since the paint is so fresh it took a small chunk(chip) off. Should I wait to fix the chip? Should I fix it right away? (fixing chips the right way require sanding/buffing, and I didnt know if I should wait until the paint cures more or not)

Please guys, any feedback will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Mark, I would defer most of the questions back to the body shop. I would hate to recommend anything that would void your paint warranty.

Well, I do plan on calling the body shop and getting some input later this afternoon- but I wanted to get a few opinions from fellow autopians first as well.

I second that, ask the body shop. There are many different types of paints these days, and different hardeners and solvents, etc. There are some shops that say don't seal for a couple of days and there are some that say a month, depending on the type of paint. I'll try a find the link because I'm in the process of repainting a car and wanted to know the differences in paints too, but better to listen to the shop than an Autopian in this case.

Answers from bodyshop:

1- wash as often as needed to keep surface free of contaminants.

2- wait 90 days

3- wait 90 days to fix (which I don't really want to, but I'll stick it out)
