UPS just dropped off the CCWs....what should I use to protect them?

Whatever you want. I have never used Rejex, and the problem with asking a company like ccw what they recommend is you're most likely not going to get a true professional opinion. I love atj on any high polished wheel, but Rejex has a pretty good reputation.

Post pics... I just got my 505As for my GTO last week. I applied duragloss 105 and it seems to have been doing a pretty good job, but we just have lots of rain so I gotta see if they need to be polished again, even with the sealant. THe car is my DD and the CCWs are gonna be a pain in the *** lol

You just bought them, and you think they need to be polished!!!?

I plan was to never dull them once, them put the Rejex on.

Rejex was $18 a bottle, but its supposed to protect the wheels very well, and its what CCW told me to get.

Are the wheels clear coated or just polished?

If CC's I would go with Zaino. you can use Zaio first to clean them and thgen folow up with Z2p or Z5p.

If just polished I would use either Mothers Billet or Simichrome on them and then follow up with either Rejex (only because I already have it and wanted to use it up) or whatever good sealant I had like Zaino, Finish First, Rod & Custom, Klasse will all work fine. The more durable the sealant the better.

I tend to try to use my junk or other sealants on my wheels and windows and save my Zaino for my paint.

They are not clear coated....but they are brand new. Maybe I should just put the Rejex on them and call it a day.

Rejex is one of the better products out there for wheels, it was made to easy cleanup of Jet Exhaust on planes so it works wonders on brake dust. That said I don't really like in painted surfaces, unless you like the really high gloss mirror type finish which I feel is plastic coated look you won't like it on paint either.:xyxthumbs

Here's my .02

I have brushed centers - high polised outers HRE's with no CC on the outer halves.

I've tried various sealants, zaino, OPS, Klasse and Sonus and NEVER like the results it produced on them. It took away from the high gloss and while it slightly did help with oxidation, my biggest issues was dew which always produced water spots.

The higher the polished surface, the *more* it liked to attract moisture.

In the end, I settled in on Heavy Metal Polish (went through a bunch and Flitz will always be my backup). I used their lightest cut and just did touch up polishing every 1-2 weeks. It's ALOT of maintenance but just no product- constant polishing gave me the look I Wanted on my wheels.

YMMV.

I;ve had durgaloss 105 on mine for 2 weeks now, and its doing OK. The wheels are not as high polished as when I first got them since there are some water marks (drove through lots of puddles and very heavy storming) but they arent oxidized and cleaned up easy with ONR and then sprayed with DG aquawax.

I'm anxious for pics of the Cobra with the wheels mounted! I have some Poorboys wheel sealant I use on a set of stripped and polished wheels. If the car gets driven much, it's almost like you're fighting a losing battle with keeping them shiny. They do look incredible when clean though.

i've got ccw t-10's on my ride, just had them chromed, could'nt deal with the polishing, i'm in heaven now, getting to your question , before i chromed them i used pb's wheel sealantx3 gave me excellent results, of course i found out about it on this site like everything else, they don't steer you wrong around here.

This car is not my DD...so I think maintenance won't be bad.

CCW's are GREAT rims. I have some HRE's (polished) also not a DD. In spring I hit the rims with Adams metal polish and then top it off with wheel wax. Half way through the season I repeat (not because I have to but usually because I am so anal). It has worked well for me. Best of luck with the CCW's.
