UPP question, can you use AIO or do you have to use Four Star Ultimate Paint Cleanser

AIO + UPP. I'd say my experiences were excellent!

I think you could use dog poop as a base and still make the car look good;) You are proof that it is 90% process and 10% product. You have posted hundreds of pictures and used probably hundreds of different combos and they all look great.



I have used AIO as a base for UPP on my silver car and really liked the results. Never tried UPC.

The Corvette looks fantastic. Looks like AIO and UPP are a great combination.



I ordered UPP and should have it today. I am going to try the AIO and UPP combo on my read Saab Aero. I have Menzerna Glaze and FMJ on it right now. I do like the FMJ....but maybe the AIO and UPP will give the red paint more depth and wetness.

Yes, the AIO/UPP combo is another good alternative. Leaves the surface very slick but also produces a nice shine.

Newbie, here. Bidness kept me too bizee. Bidness ben bary bary good to me. Time to get down to some serious but relaxing detailing on my hacienda carriages.



Will this make my wife's new Silver G35 compare to your fotos using AIO and PUPP (aka UPP)?

You guys have used VM/EX-P right? Can you compare that combo to AIO/UPP? Before winter sets in here in MI, I'd like to try a couple of different combinations and I plan to use my Silver TL as the tester.



By compare I mean slickness, longevity, appearance. The only area that EX-P seems to fail me is slickness but since it's easily restored with S&W/QD, I have the feeling that it's Ann Arbor water more than anything else.



In addition to AIO/UPP, I'll be trying Zaino (2 layers only :shocked ) My buddy's volunteered his so I figure why not. :D

I think EX-P made the metallics stand out more and didn't have as much depth to the paint. The biggest difference is how well EX-P sheets water and UPP beads like crazy.

Absolutely! Over properly prepped paint, your final glaze and LSP will only affect the appearance compared to other products within about 10% one way or the other.



Megan-I think you will really like the combo. The main reasons I don't use it more often is a lack of shade and the long drying time of the version of UPP I have. Oh yeah, and I am out of AIO. I need to order more. :p



maecrispy-with regards to appearance, UPP has a somewhat softer, richer look than EX-Ps real hard clear look. Both look wet and neither are as deep looking as a carnauba. On silver though, that really doesn't seem to be as important as reflections and wetness. I normally don't let products go until there is no more beading or slickness at all, so the best I can vouch for is around 3 months on both products.

Wow, never expected that kind of look with Armor All. It almost appears non-greasy while still maintaining the shiny look. Do you usually do this on most detail jobs?

Yes, although I am also testing out Meguiars Hyper Dressing which you can cut up to 4:1 with water.
 
Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like I'll have a lot of fun comparing the hard candy look of Z with the softer, much wetter look of AIO/UPP. Playing with those and my new PC and I think I'm going to enjoy the fall this year!



Truth be told, I really want to experiment with FMJ but that'll have to wait until I can justify the cost.
