UPP over PB Black Hole

I'ver been reading in other forums where folks are putting 4 star UPP over BH. I always thought that you couldn't get a good bond with a sealant over a glaze, but with the new formula's nowadays I figured I would ask and come right here to the source!!

Any comments or did anyone ever try it with good results??

Too cold be me to try since its in the high 20's lov 30's for the next few days.

I haven't tried UPP over BH but I've been putting sealants over glazes for years. I can't/ couldn't see/tell if there were bonding issues or not. I like the look so I do it.
When the weather breaks I'm planning to use a sealant over both WD and BH.:passout:

Rabbi, any problems with it bonding??? Meaning does it wipe on and wipe off without any issues (streaking etc etc).

I don't really care about longevity since I usually do my vehicle monthly. Sometimes more when I get the urge:D

That was my latest combo. (actually over white diamond)
I haven't found any bonding issues so have fun with it.
UPP leaves a nice slick surface

No problems whatsoever. My glaze of choice has been Vanilla Moose. Anxious to try PoorBoy's new products(glazes).
I applied the glaze as instructed then followed it up with whatever sealant I chose.I can't remember if I used UPP over a glaze or not but I'm pretty sure I have.
I'm with you when it comes to longevity or durability. I'm always adding a coat of wax or something to my cars.
Try a small section and see what happens. Good luck, have fun and enjoy the fruit.:passout:

Sounds great. I usually use UPP on one vehicle and my other vehicles I use Poorboys products. I figured I would use the BH to get it that extra pop since I never used it before.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I have used VM under Duragloss and UPP.

I missed this the first time around. I didn't find CK's VM to work particularly well under EX or EX-P, noticeably shortening the longevity of both. FWIW, I do think that VM has above average cleaning ability. And even yet was one of the most (top 10?) over-hyped products across some of the forums.

Do WD or BH have any cleaning ability?

Never used WD, but I have not noticed any cleaning ability at all with BH. Just a good shine and a lot of depth after application.

I applied BH with cyclo using polish pads and it really cleaned up the paint and the shin was terrific and POP!!! wow, then it rained before I could top it with the sealant...:(

Dave, do you really think it cleaned it, meaning when I think of clean I think of Pro Polish. Agreed it does some cleansing so to speak but at least IMO not as well as a polish. Maybe I am putting to much into the meaning of clean?

That might be the understatement of the day. Right after the initial application, I don't think I have ever used anything slicker. I have read comments about that slickness going away quickly, but I can't say that I noticed that it did. There again, I didn't feel my paint real often to check. :)

I think most of us (many of us? some of us?) agree on the initial slickness of UPP. I'm probably one of the people commenting on the decline of surface slickness. It is easily noticeable for me at the point of a subsequent wash. The appearance/gloss fades much more slowly. I wonder if the new "super-charged" UPP maintains the slickness longer.

Thinking back, when I was using UPP, most of my washing was being done with Poorboy's Spray & Wipe.
I wonder if that was one reason I didn't notice the decline in slickness to the same extent as some others? :hmmm:

I try to always do some correction and polish before using BH or WD. Then I lay on some high quality carnauba by hand to finish it off. I have never had bonding issues. I do like to let the glaze relax a little especially if I have applied it with my G110. Wait an hour or so to hit it with the final wax and back it up with a second application.

vm is a great product, I am going to have to pick up some BH.

I have used VM then EX with stunning result. VM,EX, wait 2 hours ex again. wait a day s100. I have never seen anything like it! Well I have done 3 coats of SG that looked pretty sick to.

Bonding problems may occur with a oil based glaze like rmg.
With BH you're good to go whatever you top it with.
