UPP doesn't protect against waterspots

Haven't washed my car for over a month, so it has some pretty bad waterspots. They are etched thru 4 layers of UPP and into the paint. So I will probably have to polish my hood again. I didn't have this problem when I washed every 1 or 2 weeks. Just a heads up...

I dunno if there are many products that will protect against spotting if you don't wash very often. Maybe multiple coats of SG, but yeah, the best approach with UPP (and anything else for that matter) is to wash sorta frequently. Washing often seems to take advantage of UPP's slickness, too.

Nothing will prevent the effects of long term presence of rain impurities over a long period of time. The better protectants will take the beating for a short amount of time 2-4 weeks and other less durable products need to be tended to almost immediately.

My experience with Zaino on quality paint (Lexus) is about one month (longest I have gone without washing) but my GM (Escalade, (Camaro Z28 never see bad weaher)) paint needs more frequent attention to prevent damage. Surprisingly my Ford paint is very resistant to damage when protected by Zaino. :nixweiss

We have very low acidic rain here in the foothills of Virginia. :xyxthumbs

Are they rain or sprinkler water spots? Water spots from sprinklers are especially nasty and I don't know of anything that can stand up to them for any length of time.

Excellent point Scott. The people who use well water in this area for lawn and garden care are really cursed because of the hardness of this untreated water. Lawn sprinkler + well water +sun= :scared
