Updated trailer. New generator and sides

Tex Star Detail

Formerly TexasTB
I picked up my Generator yesterday, finally. Bought it at Pep Boys.

""2500 running watts, 3125 maximum watts. Easy start, 5.5 HP, fuel-efficient OHV engine. With two 120V outlets.""

Also, had a chance to weld some sides on my trailer. Took it to a welding shop and got a quote for $100. Trying to save money, I decided to do it my self for cheaper. I picked up some old bed frames for nothing. (heavy duty angle iron) Measured, cut, and welded with my friends' welder. Total cost......ZERO.
I only did the from the front of the wheels and around. I did the back half with wood. I wanted to keep my options open, just incase I needed to add later. It is made of Oak and treated wood. Again.....free...I picked it up from a scrap pile...LOL. I know I am cheap! I printed some numbers off the computerm traced them to the wood, and painted them. (blocked out due to DC guidelines) On the back, I will be getting vinyl done....and yes, I will be paying for them. :D

Pics.......(excuse the dirty trailer, just gpt back from a 1700 mile trip with it)

EDIT- Sorry about the 2 large pics. I will resize them tomorrow and fix the problem.:)

Wow that trailer is coming along very well!

That's the same generator I have. Very good piece of equipment.

What size trailer is that and what size water tank ? Me and a buddy of mine is starting a mobile detailing business . We need to know what's a good size water tank and about how many cars you can do with it ?

The trailer is a 4x8 and the water tank is 65 gallons. With the water tank, I can do between 4-5 cars, depending on how muddy. I do not really use my tank and pressure washer for washing a whole bunch. Instead, I use QEW. I do that since the Texas heat like to dry my soap up before I can fire up my washer..

The trailer, I thought it would be a great size. I am at my weight limit right now with it. And I wish it were a little bigger. I picked it up from Tractor Supply Co. for a few hundred bucks, less than 300. I would say, a good Starter size would be a 5x8 minimum. I will be looking into getting a bigger trailer soon.

Nice work! Won't you get in trouble for the plate being a bit obscured, though?

I haven't yet. It is mounted where it is suposed to be, but if they do question me about it, I will most likely mount it to one of the fenders.

Hey nice rig, I just recently purchased a generator and was wondering how I should ground the unit. The manual states to place a 2 ft rod into the ground but what if you are in a parking lot, what would you use to ground your generator then? Or what do you have your generator grounded to when you do your jobs?

Thanks

I have it grounded to nothing.

Lookin good! How does it ride with all the weight?

Where did you say you got those outdoor boxes from?

Also, that tank looks big for a 65Gal. Do you know the dimensions on it?

Thanks.
It rides great. I am at my max weight limit with it already!
I picked the boxes up from Wal-Mart for $19 each. As for the size of the tank...I will have to get back to you on that. Will break out the tape measure later.:)

It may look big because I have it liftes off the trailer about 6 inches. Gravity feed to the pressure washer.

Glad to hear it rides good. Nothing like being worried about loosing or breaking the trailer.

I thought that's where I read you got them, but I checked out 2 local Wal-Marts here, but didn't have any luck. Maybe they stopped selling them, or just don't carry them in my area.

Yep, I forgot about the blocks and from those pictures I missed it.

I know you said you wanted to go bigger, but are you happy enough with the set up of this one? Do you have everything placed how you like it?

I am happy with it. I just wish I had a covered trailer now.
