Update on the Neighbor's Black Lexus

Since I didn't want all my work to go down the drain (literally) I told my neighbor to not take his car to the car wash, but to let me know and I can wash it for him.

Here's the link to my post on the first time I detailed it:

First Detail

So today I had some time, and went over to washed his car. Just a basic two bucket wash with NXT Wash. I also wanted to see how the FMJ was holding up. It seemed to be okay. The beading was there but not nice, tight beads. And the slickness was down too, maybe about half of what a fresh coat would feel like. But it still looked good. :)

And this time I was able to take some pictures outside, although this was in the afternoon. One thing I noticed with the FMJ is the sharp reflections it gives. Enjoy!

Nice Reid.

You might want to make sure that your neighbor gets some tires soon, the last two pics don't look to good for that tire!

thanks. and oh yeah, i keep forgetting to mention that to him. i noticed it the first time i detailed his car. i guess there is something about a nice black car that makes me forgetful. :p

You aren't kidding about the sharp reflections. Kind of looks like my hood today after I polished it out with Optimum Polish (neighbors cat jumped on my hood last night with her muddy paws :angry ).

That second hood shot is a seriously excellent picture! :up

Looks GREAT!

More and more I think to myself that NXT isn't a good weekly wash. I haven't decided whether it's too strong or leaves a residue on the surface, but I have NEVER had luck with keep slickness long at all with it.

thanks Sean. and yeah, i'm also wondering about the NXT Wash. it does seem to sort of kill any slickness, even when i try to use a little amount. hmmm, my Costco was selling some Gold Class Car Wash, i think i should pick some up. :)

PB SS&S has been the wash I like and go to for a consistent great wash and no loss of slickness.

For light cleanings, PB S+W is just as good, if not better.

I've noticed the same thing with Gold Class, its a harsh wash.

ah dang it. and i just got 1.25 gallons of Gold Class wash. :(

2000firebird: nah, those are some racing michelin pilots...:D

Sean: seems like i better call ranney for some PB's SS&S. :)

Mike: thanks!
