Upcoming season and some advice

Detailing NY

Well for most of us the winter is coming to an end and it is time to start the planning for the upcoming season.

For those of you who are just starting out, this may help you out a little.

Start your advertising, get your fylers, business cards and anything else you want to hand out made and ready to give out.

know where you will be giving them out and when. If you start to early people will loose the flyer, if you start to late then they will already have the car done by someone else. So you want your timing to be right on schedule. I start mine in late March, but that is just the way my area is. NY weather is crazy this time of year.

First thing i like to do is send out gift certificates or special offers to all prior customers. They really seem to like this.

oops hit enter to fast.

Then i like to get fylers out in the local area just to get things started up. Then I move on to the referrals from customers, offering customers discounts if they bring a friend or family member.

By the end of May i am usually in full swing and booked. (hope so this year as well).

July i notice an increase in interior repairs as everyone who smokes throws it out the window and it blows back in buring the seat, so i really start to advertise the repairs.

Then before i know it I am getting ready to back up as winter is around the corner again and the only thing for me to do is read up on what scottwax is doing. :)

Brian-not really doing anything. Detailing is year 'round here, not a seasonal thing. Thanks to some stupid low pressure system heading our way, the next three days will be washed out....except for a brand new Rolls that needs it's first wax. Come Wednesday and dry weather and I'll be working non-stop.
