Starting a running thread for anybody to post up any interesting movies coming out.....

WWII movie by Nolan? I`m soooo in


 
I have not been to a theater in years and never get DVDs so end up waiting a while. I saw a comment that Tom Hanks is starring in a WWII destroyer movie. If there was a good movie needed it would be about Guadalcanal. The Thin Red Line movie did not satisfy me. I saw previews of the Mighty Eighth (supposedly like an army air version of Band of Brothers) and looks like a CGI mess like Pearl Harbor...so much CGI it looks fake and cartoonish.
 
I have been to a theater 2 times in last 10 years and both were ok movies but viewing in public ruins it for me. I am an introvert so being in large public groups is nothing but stressful for me. I do like renting blueray`s from Redbox or watching on netflix at home with the wife. I will buy 4-6 movies a year on blueray that I really want to be able to see anytime in full uncompressed blueray format (on demand and netflix are great but video and audio quality is mediocre). I have a descent home theater setup in the basement that I like watching movies in.

I`m similar, I`ll only go to the movies if I REALLY want to see the movie right away, otherwise I`ll redbox/buy it and watch in my theater at Home. Watched Rogue One last night in an AVX theater....what a S#!^ job they did at the place, the dialogue audio was not working so they had to restart and when they fixed it the special effect surround audio was basically non existent , my setting at home which is cheap sounds much better than that did last night. Might have to go again to watch it on IMAX .

I`m looking forward to that Nolan war movie and Split (saw a review from a reliable source I follow on Youtube and he said it was an excellent film)
 
I saw "Rogue One" tonight. Slow going for the first half, but an action packed second half. I would give it 4 stars. I watch most of my movies at home, but you can`t beat a good action movie on the big screen. Saw the preview for the second installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy", I hope it is as good as the first one.
 
Sometimes the crowd laughter can make comedies seem funnier at the theater, then you watch again a few months later on HBO, Blueray or Netflix and it just doesn`t seem as funny as you remembered.

Me and the family are going to see Rogue One at some point in the next week or so. I can`t wait for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It is probably my favorite Marvel`s movie so far.
