UPC separates

I have some UPC and UPP for that matter that I usually store in small 2 oz plastic bottles. the cleaner UPC seems to separate to a clear liquid on the top of the product. Both are over a year old and the product stored in the small plastic bottles has gotten considerably thicker. Wondering if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this?

Thanks

Tim

Don't know specifically about UPC and UPP, but as a general rules almost all of my polishes, cleaners, and LSP's tend to seperate over time.

A thorough shaking before use and I have never had a problem with their performance.

Interestingly enough, the thickening of UPP when stored for an extended period of time is something that I just recently experienced.
In fact, it concerned me enough that I filled one of my Wal*Mart plastic bottles with water and left it upside down in a pan for a week to be sure they were sealing properly. They didn't leak a drop of water.
The UPP did not separate, it just became slightly thicker. Still useable, but more of a liquid butter consistency rather than the way it was before. It still applied easily and removed easily. The UPP in question was purchased in August of 2004 and some of it had been in the small bottle since that time. A little goes a long way. I checked the original 16 oz. bottle from August and it seems to be the way I remember it, more like whipping cream.
Anyway, I think I may start keeping it in the original bottle rather than the smaller ones. I like the convenience of the smaller bottle and I think I might put a couple of oz. in one, do the application and pour the remainder back into the 16 oz. bottle. :dunno
