Over the last couple days at work, I've noticed while removing/lightening scratches, I'm becoming very disappointed with twisted wool pads. I can't seem to take the scratch down as much as I would expect with an aggressive pad, I'm stuck with just swirls. However, when I used an untwisted wool pad, the cut seems much quicker and of course the swirls are much easier to remove.
Specifically, the twisted wool is a Schlegel, the untwisted is I believe the yellowish Makita one. Both are used with 3M rubbing compound, then in both cases are followed by 3M Swirl Remover/ 3M black waffle pad.
Any one have any insight on why the aggressive pad is being outdone by the weaker pad?
