Unelko vs Rain-X

I have the rain clear gel. I bought it at walmart. I don't actually think I have even tried it yet. I have aquapel on my windows currently.

Interested in seeing if its any good - my Rain-X is running low so it'll be finished soon. On the lookout for possible replacements...

I have not tried Unelko but over the years I have used many different products and to my mind, the only one which worked without fuss (or smears) was Aquapel

I just bought some today at wal-mart. I looked it up on the internet and it seems that the owner/founder of unelko is the same guy who invented rain-x. it's apparently non toxic no voc blah blah. I went over to my mothers and applied it to to her civic that she beats to hell. you just need a about a pea size dab to do a window, and it goes on smooth and doesn't seem to streak but I put it on in about 25 degree weather so I'm not really expecting spectacular results. but hope for the best expect the worst. oh and it's about the same price as rain-x.

update: it's been about a month and a half and the protection is still the same as when first applied if maybe a little less. but what I don't like about this product is it is almost impossible to buff clear no matter how thin you put it on, which sucks because it's a clear gel. I don't know quite how to explain it but its like broken down polish residue and its especially noticeable at night with street lights. so will I use it again? I don't know, the protection is there but I can't get over the "residue" like streaking visible at night.

I've used all 3 products mentioned so far. I'd say Rain Clear (gel) falls much closer to Aquapel than RainX. You definitely have to use an extremely small amount and you keep spreading/rubbing until it disappears. Never encountered any streaking issues. I find it much easier to use than RainX with better durability. The verdict is still out as to whether it is matches Aquapel's durability. The price point is nice as a 5 oz bottle should last years if applied properly compared to a case of Aquapel.

I'm sorry, the streaking I was referring to was the broken down polish look and it can only really be seen at night. maybe I'm not buffing enough but I find that hard to believe because I spend about five minutes per window. but overall I am still pleased with it's performance.
