Undercarriage dressings

COME AT ME BRO
I am curious what (if any) some of you guys are using to dress undercarriages. Sometime in May I am planning on doing a top-to-bottom on Lil Blue, and the undercarriage is one area that is going to need a lot of attention.

Currently, I usually use cheap tire foam sprays. While this usually will suffice, I am looking for something more economical that I can dilute put into a pump sprayer to get more even coverage. Hopefully something that will not attract dirt and dust and will leave a nice dark, matte finish.

I was thinking something along the lines of Bold & Bright possibly, becasue I've heard of people diluting it. Suggestions???

Meg's Hyper Dressing has been my pick for the last few years.... works well in a chemical sprayer, is water based and dilutable, and is fairly economical to buy by the gallon.

usually find the cheapest vinyl protectant spray. alltho i have noticed tire foam works wonders in this area. i think its due to its cleaning ability too.

I have used and liked Bare Bones Undercarriage Dressing. To be honest though I may be switching to tire foam for the cheaper price and ease of use.

As mentioned earlier, I am trying to get away from tire foam and go with something else (uneven coverage in visible areas).

The Bare Bones Undercarriage Dressing might be what you need then. Bit pricey for me but did a nice job on everything under my truck. Last year I was in quite a few shows and the judges seemed to like the way it looked under there.

Adams and Griot's Garage have very similar products that produce similar results. Those are the only ones I have seen used for shows and the end results are good.

I have been using Bold & Bright 50/50 for this and get very little dirt attraction and when it does get muddy it washes off with just the water cycle at the local hydro spray. I used it on the frame rails on my sister's boyfriend's truck and it goes on even looking. I however have not applied it using a pump up sprayer.

If your set on using a dressing than any water based dressing should do the trick.

I usually paint the undercarriage. Yes i get up underneath and clean it all down, let it dry then hit it with some gloss black paint. I mix up some frame paint in a paint gun, hook it up to some air and go to town.

And with you having that truck it shouldn't be to hard at all to get under it and get it done. Paint lasts alot longer then a dressing.

I wish I could do mine that way. My frame is 3 inches from the ground and 9 at the highest point when I have it up on ramps. I barely fit to work under there let alone use a paint gun.

I have used aerosol tire foams (armor all), BnB, CG Bare Bones, Adam's, and now I acquired a sample of Griots at Detail Fest. The oily ones (CG, Adam's) should last longer but I cannot tell a night and day difference. I will test out the Griots soon. I would think Meg's All Season Dressing would be in a similar category as Adam's, etc.
