Undercarriage Dressings - Very Very Greasy....

I've used the Griots variant in the past and am currently using the Adams' variant for my wheelwells.

Love the look of them but man, that god I'm applying this stuff with the car parked on the street.

You should see the runnoff/spots in leaves even on black tar / aspahalt roads...

I can clearly see various *4 corner wheel marks* and some spots are even 7 months old with no washing off from the rain at all !

I'd be scared to see how the stain would look on concrete...

Yeah, much as I like the Griot's stuff I do find it very messy. I usually end up applying it with some kind of applicator instead of spraying it. It's harder to get it on that way, but at least I have more control over where it goes. Actually, I don't use it all that much any more, in part because of the mess factor.

With Adam's. I lightly spray the wheel wells and then spread with a primed thin sponge applicator. I never see drips, etc. If you park in a garage, it gets a not too bad grape smell.

I have also used products like a tire foam (AA,Meg's). It works well.

I use Hyper Dressing at 3:1 after cleaning, it isn't greasy at all and looks great. Easy clean up, too.

For the rubberized type coating on some rear wells, I soak with degreaser, then dress with either a cheap tire foam or Hyper Dressing, depending on the texture. Some of these coating can be hard/non-porous, in which case Hyper Dressing is better, or they can be soft/porous, in which case the tire foam is better.

Not greasy at all, cheap, and looks great.

I have Hyper Dressing as well. It doesn't last quite as long and just that have that *pop* that these pop that these greasy dressings have.

Yeah, I like the effect from the Griot's the best of anything I've tried (and I kinda like the solventy-smell; I'd *hate* to smell artificial-grape in the shop). Still wish it were cleaner though...but I suppose that it wouldn't work as well if it were.

I thought CD-2 was getting hard to find

I've had great results with Meg's Hyper dressing at 4:1 misted on and let dry.

Its water based so it will wash away but its cheap and easily reapplied.

I use Griot's as well. I think it's great, but slimy as well. I spray into the wells, and work it in with a MF or an applicator
