I was fortunate today to get out of work a tad bit early so I rushed home to give my Dodge Ram a much needed clean up. Low and behold as I was finishing up the UPS man came up the driveway with my latest order from PBMG which included a bottle of the new Ultima Tire and Trim Guard UTTG).
I was lucky enough years ago to be one of the beta testers of the Ultima line before it was released to the public. I can remember when Ultima Paint Guard Plus (UPGP) was called RG-49 etc. I have always been a fan of Ultima products since they have released. The products have outstanding durability and are super easy to use.
I have been using the original version of UTTG since it was first released. It has been used on my boat's rubber rub rail for years and after 15 years it still looks brand new ever after sitting in the water every summer. So, I was pretty excited to see how the new formula compared. The boxed was immediately opened products put to the test
Thoughts:
1) Love the mini applicator. It fits so much better in small places that the old blue version.
2) Great scent-Kinda of has a mild "menthol" smell to it.
3) UTTG is definitely more watery than the original version. Therefore, it spreads super easy and a little goes a long way
4) UTTG was applied to trim only and seemed to darken it a tad. The directions state that it drys to the touch etc.
5) Durability: I will try and report back on how its holding up on my trucks trim as it sits outside 24/7
All and all I am very happy with new version and it seems to be another hit for the Ultima line.
