UFC 70 free tonight on Spike TV

my goodness.... who would ever thought CROCOP would get a taste of his own medicine :wow: (i wanted him to win, as i am a fan). like i told my buddy (called me immediately after the fight) he just got caught (happens to the best of them), you can't let your guard down at any given time or things like this happen. i'm sure he'll be back and better than ever :2thumbs: ! hopefully his leg/ankle is okay, that thing was twisted like a pretzel when he hit the canvas... :shocked

patrick, ufc stands for ultimate fighting championchip...

Mirco got knocked the fawk out. And yeh his leg, I seriously thought it was broken, it did like a 180 when he fell and was twisted. Yet they showed him afterwards and he was walking fine.

KTFO, indeed. I was shocked; I completely expected the fight to end with Crocop's left foot. Wrong guy, wrong foot . . . Gonzaga delivered a huge boot to the head. I was a little disappointed, as I really wanted to see Couture and Crocop square off for the title.

Crocop didn't look like himself that night. Not taking anything away fron Gonzaga though, he deserved.

It'll be interesting to see how Randy does against him. Randy's always had a problem against big strong grapplers.

The underdogs been winning left and right lately....

A few weeks ago Sera knocked out GSP and now has the belt.....

Randy Couture beat out Silvia

Diego Sanchez lost

I hope chuck wins his next fight in may.......and puts an end to this underdog madness

Crazy night, MMA has been crazy in general. Gomi lost to Nick Diza, Arona lost to Sojukiui, GSP to Serra, Cro Cop to Gonzaga, ect.....

I train with a couple of pro UCF fighters, maybe I'll post some pictures tonight after class.

Rampage isn't really an underdog..... He is one of the top fighters in world (despite what the UFC would have you believe with thier crappy marketing, most of the top fighters fight for PrideFC in Japan). Chuck is generally ranked between 2nd and 7th in world at light heavy weight, not #1.

I forgot to DVR this. Are they going to show it again?

I think they already showed a reply on Monday, but if you go to Dailymotion.com I'm sure you can find the videos of the fights on their.

I think yesterday was a replay i missed the 1st hour because the menu on dishnetwork showed CSI was on so the recorder didn't tape..

I was little pissed pissed i wasted my time when Tito and Dana White where to battle it out and the fight never transpired :wall

If anyone is desperate for a copy of the fight (or for just about any past Pride, UFC, or other MMA series event), drop me a PM; I might be able to help.

Rampage is known for his takedowns and slams, Chuck has a killer takedown defense (especially in the cage). That's going to be an interesting matchup . . .

BTW, has anyone heard more about UFC acquiring Pride? What's the expected effect on Joe Fan? Will Pride still host events in Japan (in rings as opposed to the octagon), or did UFC just absorb all the talent?

Agreed Tort, to a point. Rampage was also know for is great, crisp stand up that knocked Chuck out last time as well two victorys over Cybill Abidi in K1!!!! He has beaten one of the better K1 fighters ever at his own game, stand up. This is because he throws straight down the pipe, which is a good counter to Chucks looping style. That is why he beat Chuck to every punch in the first fight and completely dominated him for 15 minutes before knocking him out. Rampage has a chin that is second to none, he ate something like 30 straight knees to the chin vs. Wanderli Silva and was still on his feet.

I know Chuck has gotten better, and Rampage had a slide, so that tightens the match up considerably. But to say Rampage is a clear cut underdog is a little wrong.

in a way it's a good thing, i think some of these big name fighters need to stay grounded. if they get beaten, they need to go back to the drawing board and continue to get better & better and just stay on top of their game (there is always someone climbing up the ladder). for example... the franklin vs silva fight didn't surprise me one bit, anderson silva (trained in the chute boxing academy) is an excellent muay thai fighter with an excellent jiu-jitsi background (received his black belt from the noguiera brothers), and if you look at his last two fights, he won one by stand-up (rich franklin) and the other on the ground (travis lutter)...

The kick was the strike of the night without question, but Bisping's performance against Sinosic was pretty impressive. That guy took such a pounding and all of it to the face.

Arlovski's fight was just awful--it could not have been more boring.

To clarify, I didn't say that. All I said is that it would be an interesting matchup. Styles make fights, and I think this will be a good one . . . I'm not going to hazard a guess as to who'll come out on top, though.

QFT on both . . . Bisping did a good job, and it was cool to hear the English crowd getting behind him. As for Arlovski, I usually enjoy his fights, but man, what a yawner. One thing I'd like to see UFC adopt from Pride is the yellow card (and the associated 10% money penalty) for stalling.
