uber pads

I just ordered the uber orange green and blue pads from detailers domain to go with my udm, i dont really see them used on this site much, can anyone who has used them chime in and tell me about them?

Personally I havent used them but they are just about the only ones you can get in the 5.5" size. I plan on getting a handful of them soon. I think they are very well liked as a whole.

I like all of them besides the orange, which is way too stiff. The green is very versatile, cuts well and finishes well, blue is great for finishing. I love them.

I cannot comment much aside from these being the first flat pads I have used, before I used the CCS, I prefer the flat pads more. I am looking to purchase more of the Uber pads, Green, Blue and Black, I initially bought one of each but found my self using the Green and Blue most of the time. Perhaps pick up some of the LC flat pads for comparison.

thanks guys, im just wondering how they will do with 105/205 with my udm via kbm, i wouldve got the lc's but they dont have the 5.5" in the flat, only the ccs

Actually, just remembered, I did a Mercedes a little while ago, the Green cut more and finished much better than the orange.

I'm about to order some. Which 5 should I get for use with 105/205? You all don't think the orange is worth it? I see they even have a yellow pad. I was thinking 3 Green and 2 Blue.

I have some black CCS 6.5" pads I haven't even used yet. I would much rather have 5.5" pads than 6.5" pads.

I've used them. The green pad is great. Used it with 205 and Poli-seal. Finishes down really nice on a PC with the 205. I bought a few organge as well. I've used them with 105 and they are ok - but I'm no pro by any means. They just didn't finish down as well as I thought they would. And they are rock hard. Left LOTS of marring and so I needed to do lots more work on the second polishing stage w/205. I've seen people use the LC orange with 105 and that combo seems to finish out much better so I plan on grabbing some of those to try out with 105. The Uber blue pad works good with 205 and PO85RD as well if you need a really fine polishing combo. I've also used blue for applying glaze as well.

I can't comment on the Uber yellow since I dont' have any. They didn't have them available when I bought my Uber pads. I guess they are fairly new...

Which pads to get was the one single thing that drove my absolutely crazy when I first started. There are just so many choices. If I had it to do over again I'd just buy LC 5.5 orange, white and black pads. Those 3 pads seem to be the workhorses for lots of the more experienced folks here - espeically when using 105 & 205.

FYI - I notice you said you're only getting Uber green and blue. If you do go the Uber route, you'll need something more aggressive than the green for heavy defect removal with 105. The green will just not cut it. It's more or less like the LC white pad; to be used more for polishing than defect removal. Like I said, if you want to keep it simple and be able to relate to more of the combinations that are being used here, I'd go the LC (Orange, white and black) route.

I use the uber pads and have been very impressed so far, I have a Griots V2 I did have one fly apart on me but I am going to contact them but overall I am very impressed and happy I have orange, green and blue 5.5 pads
