u.v. protection in dressings.

There is no cure!
how important is u.v. protection on tiredressings for u guys?

i like to use waterbased dressings but a lot of the new dressings im looking into dont seem to mention anything on u.v.protection. hyper-dressing as i undertand, doesnt offer any protection, where as adams vrt does...

anyone seen or know of any long term effects from using dressings without u.v. protectors?

It's not so much of an issue for me for tires, I'll run through them before the UV rays do (I have too much fun when I drive though).

There's really no established system of measuring and quantifying it in dressings ( unlike sunscreens for skin) so I'd go by your level of trust in the brand.

I personally wouldn't worry too much about UV protection on tires myself, but on interior vinyl, etc. I would try to use a product that at least claims to have some sort of UV protection. As Bill says, there's not a way of really quantifying it in numbers, so I do just just what he suggests - use a product that I like/trust.

Yeah, that's interesting as it uses terminology for ranking products that provide skin sun protection

Spot on Bill.

The whole UV thing looks like a marketing angle for car care products. I don't pay much attention to it when deciding what products to purchase or use.
