Two Slick Ponies....

I think we had the last of the real good weather here on LI this weekend. So it was with great regret I gave the Mach it's winter coat before it goes into hibernation for the winter (I garage it from Dec-Mar/Apr).

The paint was in great shape, so I:

Wash with PB SSS

OP Polishing Pad 1200rpm

RMG

EX+

Trade Secret

TR on all Plastic

Z10 on all interior leather

Z16 on the new Goodrich g-Force tires (Best tire I've ever had...)

Geez...I cant wait for spring already!!!!!!

Next up, since I was missing the Mach already, was my brother's black GT. Yep, two old farts with a mid life crisis, but at least Im younger (and MUCH faster...)

Anyway, his son has been taking care of it, but it sits under trees, and they live next to a small horse farm...you get the picture...

So:

Wash with NXT

Clay

OPC with Orange Pad at 1200 rpm on roof and hood

FPII with Polishing pad at 1200rpm

RMG

EX-P

Natty's Blue

TR on plastic

Z16 on tires

PB Wheel Sealant on rims

Sorry, the sun was almost gone, so no sun shots (but you do get to see my ugly mug in the driver's door :LOLOL )

Nice result! Just curious though:

If the paint was in great shape, why'd you have to hit it with a rotary? Were there swirls? You didn't mention claying the car. You didn't have to because of OP?

Both cars look great. Hard to say which is better because of the different lighting conditions.

The black one looks wetter but well it's black and different angle shots.

How would you compare Natty's Blue and Trade Secret?

good job...is that a normal hibernation period for guys on the mainland? i dont think i cant go dec-mar/april without my stang..

Well, I didnt NEED the rotary, but I did an Odessey minivan on Sat and my arms were tired :), and knowing I was going to do both cars in a short time just made it a lot faster. I always polish before garaging to be sure I get a good bond. I didnt clay because the paint in great shape.

Mad iX,

You kind of nailed it right there...I think Nattys is wetter, and I actually like the look of it much better over the EX+, but again I was pressed for time and TS is a wipe on, wipe off product that I had laying around. It has an awesome Carnuba glow, very, very similar to Souveran, goes on/off like soft butter, and has good durability. Since I was going for protection here rather than a specific look, it fit the bill. I will say this, if I had to have only one carnuba, nattys blue would be it.

The lighting does play a role to an extent, but it is real hard to beat a well done black car for a wet look.

Here's two more pics of the Mach taken during the summer in different lighting that makes it look wetter because of the contrasts and reflections (and partly because of the Nattys Blue):
