Well. i've come to close to an end for my Souveran Paste Wax, there is still about another 3-4 waxes left in it.

(2002 Focus SVT (Red))

1st - I've been out of it for a while on the detailing world and see there is a bunch of new products out. My usual process is usually NXT Wash -> AIO -> NXT Tech -> Souveran paste. This has been working out really well and wanted to see if anyone had any reccomendations on new products? Trying to look for produts for a more wet look.

2nd Issue - The big problem i've been running into, is i'm too lazy to tape off the trim and plastic on my car. A while ago, I let some wax dry on a piece of plastic on the back of my car and since then its fadded black plastic in some areas. I'll take some pictures tomorrow of it. I've tried poorboys trim restore, but it only temporarly fixes the problem for a couple hours. Any thing I can do to save the black plastic?

There's always a new product...if what you have works, stick with it...but I'm sure you'll get a hundred opinions on what to replace your Souveran with. The trim staining really bothers me, too (I'm guessing it was the NXT that got you); the only things that really seem foolproof about being able to get it on the trim without a problem are SG and Zaino...perhaps there are some others.

I've used Mother's Back to Black and that worked in situations where Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer only managed a temporary fix. So far the trim has stayed black for over 1 month now whereas with Meg's it would become white again after being wet by water.

Sorry, I forgot to answer one of your questions...about getting the wax off the trim. I recently tried a tip from an old Bill North post about using Eagle One A2Z with an old toothbrush. That seemed to work pretty well. I can't vouch for it 100% as I had a couple spots which seemed to come back, and I had a little less success on a friend's car, but it's worked the best of all the things I've tried. Make sure the brush is gentle or else you will leave scuff marks on the plastic.

Another product which is a good hider is Autoglym Bumper Care. I tried this first and I thought it had gotten about 80% of the wax off. Later I used the Pb's TR, and in a few weeks, it was like I had never done anything! I guess the TR dissolved whatever the AG had left, so when the TR was gone...blech. That's when I searched and found the A2Z trick.

Try Mr Clean Magic Erasure, it should remove the wax from trim. I hope that I have not missed the symptom , ie. the wax has actually caused the plastic to discolour or degrade.

Just be a bit careful with Magic Erasure as I have found it is a little abrasive.

Awesome info, and yes. It was from the NXT wax. That stuff seems to get everywhere and anywhere sometimes. I'm probably going to ask around and see if i can get a sample from one of the many nice guys on here ;P of the P21s. I had a real nice guy 'whom i can't give credit too' hook it up with a dab of Sourveran a while ago and I was amazed.

As for the trim, I'm probably going to try combinations of techniques listed black on black + Setec's technique to clear up this situation
