Two coats of sealants question

I've read where some people put two coats of sealants with a curing time in between. How do you keep the first coat clean if you need to use the vehicle? Also, if you leave it overnight, won't the first coat pick up dust and dirt even though you don't drive the vehicle, especially if you don't have an enclosed garage? I would like to use two coats of sealant but don't know if I need to wash it again after I leave it overnight or if there is something else to use. Thanks

Ideally, you would wait some level of time for the first coat to bind to the surface. If you apply the second coat too quickly, the agitation of the second coat can remove some of the first coat.

To get the best possible results, you want to wait as long as possible with in the time frame, however it is not something to stress about. If the car is going to sit outside, your best bet would be to apply to both coats within a reasonable time frame (a couple hours) and then apply a third coat after your first wash.

Alternatively, you could apply 1 coat the first day, and a second coat after your first wash.
