Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Gloss Liquid Wax

I know this wax his its fans here on Autopia. Has it been discontinued? Anyway, you can get a case of the stuff for only $14.40 @ Rock Bottom Deals.

I think its been discontinued in the US, since its not on the TW US page. Either it never sold very well, or TW Ice (especially Ice paste) fills out the high end of the turtle wax product line.

I was at autozone recently, and noticed that the Meg's Clay kits now had a sticker on them saying "Outperforms liquid clays", so someone is feeling the heat from the Ice clay kit. :hifive:

hmm, yeah I noticed it wasn't on the website as well. I thought it was a glitch on the website. Also it was on clearance at Walmart.

Too bad, I wanted to try it out eventually.

Is the Ice line really that popular?

I wonder if there is any site or place to read how well the sales are for selling wax. I guess it would be hard since most of them are private companies.

Turtle Wax Platinum spray detailer is one of the best detailers out there and it hasent been made in a long time. IMO the Platinum series products is much better then the Ice products.

Better than FK425 or Z6?

The best part about the TW platinum line was that they were under 10 bucks. I think I paid $7 for my paste wax.

This depth and gloss is entirely from the turtle wax ultra gloss liquid wax (before I got much more serious about detailing) and had amazing results:

Not true, most of depth and gloss came from your prep work, not from Turtle Wax. Looks good though.

when I was in Tucson in February in the target they had a couple of the tins of the platinum wax on close out for around $2 a tin. Almost got them but decided against it.

Have never used the stuff but I would feel secure in knowing that my paint would be protected (not sure for how long) if this was all I had. If i had to wax once a month with this stuff it would not bother me

I like TWPUG. It looks deep and wet. Though its durability isn't great, I enjoy its beauty aspects, and easy application and removal. Having tried the bulk of the line, I think that the QD is the standout product.
