2018 GMC DENALI 2500

I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Turtle Wax Ceramic Polish & Wax on a 2018 GMC 2500 Denali. The Denali came from the dealership with some swirls/light scratches and marring. Since I bought it, I never had the opportunity to do much with it. There was very little to no protection left on it, the water didn`t bead or sheet anymore and it was starting to look "grungy".

Fast forward to two days ago.

Wheels & Tires:

  • Wheels cleaned with Detail King Brake Up Wheel Cleaner & Iron-X
  • Tires cleaned with Detail King Tire and Whitewall Cleaner
  • Wheels cleaned using Wheel Woolies
  • Tires dressed with Detail King Laguna Beach Tire Gel

Paint:

  • Washed with The Wax Shop Cherry Snow Foam in a Foam Cannon
  • Surface Decontaminated with Black Fire Clay Mitt & Iron-X
  • Tar removed with Tarminator

Polishing using Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Polish & Wax:

  • Started out with a test spot using a Rupes Bigfoot 21 on a Rupes Medium Green Pad.
  • The polish removed defects but left some swirling/micro-marring
  • Switched to an LC Orange Pad - Polished down near flawless, removing 95%-98% of the defects and left it swirl/haze/micro-marring free

Some overall thoughts of the product: I liked the way it is packaged. The branding, coloring and packaging was done very well and is appealing. It had a relatively decent scent and didn`t have that chemical type smell. The product spread well and had a relatively long work time and was easy to remove the residue. I had no issues with it dusting, either. . I would say that the polish is quite aggressive, but did an excellent job of removing defects and finishing down very nicely. I even had to do some wet sanding on a small scratch and using the polish on the Rupes with the Orange LC pad removed all sanding marks and polished the finish to a high gloss. I think this makes a nice "one step" polish. Of course, I will wait to see how it performs on other types of paints/clears.

When working the product in, (noticeable on darker vehicles), it did darken the vehicle quite a bit. I also noticed that it left incredible clarity and a kind of "crispness" to the finish.

I am extremely impressed with this product and can`t wait to try it out on future vehicles in the coming weeks. Here are some pictures and a link to view the video.

Interesting stuff. I know when 303 started making products more attuned to the Autopian mindset...we found out it was because they had an Autopian (or was he from AGO?) working there.

I wonder how TW got so smart.

Any thoughts on the protection it left behind?

Bofh, When I got home this morning after it raining most of the night, I took some pictures of the beading of it. As far as longevity goes, that remains to be seen. The beading, however, seems to be pretty tight. I`ll post updates, maybe once a month.

Nice review. I have a bottle and am looking forward to trying it this spring !!

Pats, thank you...I`m still working on my reviews. I wish I had more time to work on them, but surprisingly enough, business has been really good this winter so far. I have a review almost completed of their Ceramic Wash and their Ceramic Wet Wax, which I was impressed with as well. I will post that when I have a chance. I am actually going to order another bottle of the Ceramic Polish since I was that impressed with it.

Street, any follow-up comments/thoughts on this product now that you are coming up on 6 months? Do you feel like it`s holding up? Thanks.
