Tuf-Shine preliminary review

I have been looking for a long lasting tire shine for many years now. I stumbled upon this thread http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/111096-long-lasting-tire-shine.html a few weeks ago and decided to give it a shot. I received my order of Tuf-Shine tire dressing prior to this past weekend, and applied it Sunday after I fully detailed my car.



The cleaner they provided with the kit is very good. My tires weren't very dirty to begin with but the cleaner lathered up quite nicely when using a stiff bristled brush. This product is VERY watery. I was a tad dismayed as to how milky it looked and wondered how it would end up looking shiny. Now contrary to what some people think this product does not leave the tires extremely shiny. If you prefer a more matte look simply apply only 1 or 2 coats. I applied 2 coats back to back, and then a third one after an hour. The tire looks wet, but is dry to the touch. I found that to be quite amazing. It really does seem like a sealant of some sort. Of course there was absolutely no slinging as the product dried fairly quickly.



As of right now, I am very impressed with this tire shine. We will see how long it ends up lasting.

I bought this product too. I had promised some pics,but did not take any. One reason my tires have white raised lettering. When I was putting the product on it was hard not to get it on the letters. It is very durable IMO. The shine was not what I expected either. I like the shinny dressings. This will be great on black wall tires. The tire cleaner was Great, I must admit too. I did not use any more of the sealant on my tires. But the wife's black tires got all that. I'm still in search of the Ultimate Tire Dressing with no sling. I did buy one of those Refillable Air Spray cans from Harbor Freight. I really like the way it sprays on. Plus it comes with 3 tips. For the thicker products. I think the can is the key for me. Now I'm trying to concoct a good mixture for the spray bottle.
 
i bought it about a month ago and used it. i like it alot. it lasts and lasts even thru several washings. i like the fact that i don't have to keep re-applying tire dressing. i've put ultimas tire and trim protectant over it from time to time with no ill affects, also a nice product, both dry dry to the touch with no sling what-so-ever.
 
Looks like a great product.. But with all the new laws going into effect with any products that contain silicone taking the brunt of the laws in arse is this a product that's is going to be around for awhile. I know my current product is getting phased out and well as just about every other product I've looked into for replacing it. If they aren't completely dissapearing they are changing the formula's signifigantly enough that I'm not interested.
 
I found a product called Looks Wet No Mess! I saw a ad on line. I bought 6 cans for $40. Now this is one of the best aerosol dressings I have used to date. I try alot of different products and I must say this is a good one!
 
Greg, I forget where I originally saw TS. I know it wasnt here though. I contacted the company and asked quite a bit about the products claims, the representative was real pleasant to speak with. He was kind enough to send a sample out to me (After I informed him of the reason for my interest). So far, its been everything I was hoping for. Very unique product.

They also make a quick detailer (static resistant allegedly) which I just got to try today. Im extremely happy with that as well........

Mess around with the black restore and do a write up. I like the detail spray, but cannot say I like it more than FK425.



Where did you find this product? I have spoken with Bob about the claims too, my customers really like it and I use it as an upsell.



I have to say I like this product WAY more on smooth walls vs. the ribbed one. I took some pictures of my tires today. Will post ASAP.

Okay here are the photos of Tuf-Shine after 3 1/2 months of a harsh utah winter. I believe the coating is still there because salt and grime wash off easily. The shine has dulled as expected with winter driving. I am still pleased with this product.

I am not sure about the posting rules concerning other forums so I will not post the link here. I performed a two week review of this product and it is absolutely fantastic. Patrick at Exceldetail and Bob at Tuf-Shine are first class and stand by this product 100%. Here are a couple of pics from my car for illustration. I can PM the link for the two week review. I just love the fact that this product does not just off with water or mild soap, is dry to the touch, and absolutely does not sling.
