For those who've used it, does it respond well to a polisher (Makita), or you all applying by hand?
How long is it taking you who apply it? About the same as a paste wax?
And how much of the can of paste does a vehicle take?
 
i think the makita might be overdoing it for a wax. I always wax by hand.


and it doesnt take much to do a car. you will probally barely notice that u used any. as in most paste waxes.
 
Dito. I dont think nxt is made to be applied by rotary. That could be trouble. I woudl use the DA or just do it by hand.

NXT Paste is best applied with PC DA for speed of application and best results. You only need a weenie teenie bit spread with a putty knife on your pad. I'd guess you can get 30 coats or more on an average mix of vehicles. Here's a 1995 Chevy Silverado I did yesterday. Swirled and blemished to crap and it turned out great thanks to Poorboys & Meguiars products.

i've had greater success by hand than by black lc pad with pc
not long to apply
very little per vehicle

I agree. NXT paste, as with most modern sealants work best if applied very thin. So thin that they only appear as a light haze on the paint. While it's possible to do this by hand, using a PC in my experience has allowed me to apply sealants MUCH thinner and MUCH more evenly than by hand.

f20c: If you're having trouble using the PC/Lake Country pads to apply NXT, try using a bit less product, spray a light (I emphasize light) mist of NXT Speed Detailer on the panel just prior to applying the wax, and play with the speed settings on the PC...sometimes you need to kick up the speed a bit to help the product spread out better before it dries on you.

I don't have a PC, just a rotary. I've not applied waxes with the rotary, only polishes. But I've not used a synthetic or sealant before, but it sounds just like a paste wax application.
Has anyone ever tried the m/f bonnet with their PC for removal?
 
So I tried the NXT on two cars today.
It was a little difficult going on, and I put too much on the first roof (the Camry below). I put too much on because it looked at some angles like there wasn't any on in some places. Even then it still came off well, with only a little dusting.
Pretty good shine, although the paint on the Blue Sonoma was a repaint and had a smooth feel after the clay, but an awful texture. Orange peel, fish eyes, everything but runs. Good clear work but poor base & prep. I compounded with Farecla G6 first, taking out some scratches, but I don't think anything can be done.
Pics aren't great because of high sun on the Camry, and beginning to rain on the Sonoma. PEI weather, but it didn't snow today.
