Trucks & NuFinish-what's the deal?

In no way bashing a product or a vehicle type, but I'm curious.

Just bought my first pick-up truck-a Honda Ridgeline. On the Ridgeline Owner's Club forum detailing section, it seems that more than half the people use NuFinish. What's up with that? Is it a common thing among truck owners? People talk about how this is their 4th, 5th, etc., truck and all they've ever used is NuFinish. If someone asks what wax or sealant to use, NuFinish is always recommended. Now there are threads about the NuFinish scratch doctor...and apparently it works miracles :grinno: .

I think all these guys truly beleive that NuFinish is the absolute best thing they can use, but I'm just curios why it's so popular-I've never seen that much loyalty on other forums (MB, Chrysler, Jag and a few others).

I've never understood the scratch doctor.... with as aggressive as NuFinish is, it is practically scratch remover on its own!

That said, I do have a bottle of it that I use as a scratch remover from time to time

does Nu-Finish contain fillers or something? If it does, it will "remove" some scratches, rather, hide them for a while, and this could be why people like it.

Most truck owners do not seem quite as obsessed with appearance as us car guys. Trucks are also larger and abused more. It could just be that one stepping them is the way to go.

They'd probably get better results with Long Haul's Truck Polish/Wax though....

Nope, it's not fillers as far as I know. I believe what it has are some strong chemical abrasives.

I will hold judgement on the Long Haul stuff for the moment, but I'll be able to weigh in soon as I just picked some up. :o
