Truck Keyed, suggestions?

Just discovered my metallic blue Silverado has been keyed from front to back on the driver side, 2/3's of the tailgate and a small spot on the passenger side. White is showing in the scratch and I can definitely feel it with my finger nail. No chance of buffing this out.

Anyone ever delt with this? Surely there are better ways than repainting the affected sections.

One thing for sure, 3 coats of Zaino isn't enough to repel keys.

I made the mistake of doing a search while not logged in and only got 2 topics. Obviously logging in makes a big difference.

:) Yup, you have access to much more of Autopia when logged in.

You should check out a couple of the body shops in your area and see what they would charge to fix it. Ask to see before and after pictures and be sure to talk to the person that would be doing the work on your truck. If you let them know how obsessive you are about the condition of your vehicle, and be nice to them, you will be amazed what a good body shop will do for a car (truck) enthusiast. Hey, it couldn't hurt to bring the guy a pizza for lunch or something.

Oh and another part of the equation involves a baseball bat and the offender's knees. I can delve more into that subject if you wish to carry this out in PMs. ;)
