Trouble with caked up polish

I tried polishing my truck today with a pc but the product kept drying up and was caked to the paint before I could work it in. Removing the product was a bear.

Im not sure if it has something to do with the heat and humidity around here but I tried everything including using less polish to remedy the problem, but nothing seemed to work.

Swithching products didn't help much either. Does anybody have any advice? Products used were SSR2.5 and Meg's #9.

Were you doing it outside or in the sun (was the finish surface warm/hot) ? When you changed products, did you also change pads. Just wondering, because if you swapped products and not pads, whatever may have been causing product 1 to cake up may have had a hand in causing product 2 to do the same thing if it was pad related.

You didn't mist the pad with water, QD, or anything did you? That's a no-no with Poorboy's polishes (according to Steve).
