Trouble in Farmville...

Zynga and Facebook sued for fraud. I knew this would happen the second I saw that video where the founder of Zynga (maker of mafia wars, farmville, and other Facebook games) admitted to doing whatever he had to do in order to make money. He really shot himself in the head on this one. I'm just wondering how long Facebook will take to shut them off and remove them from the site. It only makes sense if they are going to be attracting lawsuits. All I know is that this bodes well for the business I started earlier this year which is also a social network, but different. Hopefully the fallout from Facebook when they remove all the games will create even more signups on my end. :)

That isn't true. They are for people with the time to play them. I know a lot of people who have very busy lives and enjoy unwinding by playing games. It is pretty judgmental to make a blanket statement like that. One could say the same thing about someone spending any amount of time on message boards.

Excellant reply!! That can be said of any hobby or passion!!!

I don't play any of those games on Facebook and usually hide those notifications. I really do not care if your sheep was lost and stole and untraceable cell phone. :)

I can somewhat see Cartoys point.
The forum isn't called Detail, Gun, and Game City.
It is interesting that we often have much more response to the threads that have nothing to do with detailing.

That said, I have to admit that I sometimes get off on a tangent as well, but that still doesn't make it the right direction for a "Detailing" forum to go.

At the risk of alienating quite a few, I will say that I would prefer to see a lot more detailing threads/posts.

Charles W , kudos to you ..........I like a guy that has a set of kahunna's............. if you want to talk about life's crap , twitter, FB or whatever. I am here to share about detailing ! otherwise I will just post as I do on FB everyday. great place to get your detail customers !

I unwind by working on the website for my car lot. I'd post the link but it's probably not kosher to do so on the forum. I don't have a license yet so I'm not selling, but I'm having fun putting in content and how-to's and other used car related articles.

That and I play games on MyYearBook to donate the points to Causes. I've donated $28 million in "lunch money" (equivalent to, I don't know, $70, since $4 million in L$ would cost $9.99 if paid for by debit card, but I EARNED all of mine) since starting.

I thought the Off Topic forum was for off topic stuff...

I see this more as an online community that shares (among other things) an interest in various other things besides detailing. If you don't want to participate in the off topic stuff, don't.

I like the detailing related stuff too, but since I took it (or read) that none of us here want to learn and none of us could take advice and that none of us really knew what we were talking about, I gave up.

The Off Topic forum is for topics that aren't detailing related. None of us eat, sleep, and breathe detailing, so when we have other things we want to talk about then this is the place. If you are only here to talk about detailing and off topic conversations offend you, then I would suggest staying out of this forum. Pretty simple.

Got the message. :bigups
I can handle that.:)

Not necessarily directed at you, Charles. ;) I was directing it at the individual who was complaining that the forum even exists.

Yeah, but I am one that thinks the site needs more discussion of detailing subjects. It does seem to me that we have more off-topic discussion than we do detailing discussion. I haven't actually researched it so I am only going by the impression I get when I come here. Maybe I just notice the posts about things I have no interest in more.

I'm also one that gets drawn into the off-topic stuff. The best way for me to control my temptations is to avoid them.
I think I'll just stay out of the Off-Topic Forum and that should take care of it. :)

like those games are for people with NO LIFE

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, probably going to have that one red bar for a while with statements like that as people that enjoy games are also members here and as you can see, you can give both positive and negative rep points. You may already know this but just wanted to mention in case that you didn't. :bigups

Yes, more detailing posts are a great idea and are welcomed. At the same time, Off Topic is here for non-detailing related posts and there are welcomed as well so that there is something for everyone.
