Tried adding some wax to the wash water today...

Like everything this perpetual noob writes, some of you know this and some don't.

I can't say I was impressed; overall, it seems like a waste of wax to me.

The car is Souv pasted. I wax it every couple weeks anyhow. I tried about an ounce of souv liquid in a bucket with an ounce of Pinnacle shampoo. The car came out looking like it always does, but maybe with some streaking in the hood that might've been there before, but also maybe not.

Shrug. I had an hour to kill, I re-pasted it. The whole car, what the heck.

But, overall I'd say it's no different than a wax and QD with CM, and is definitely more expensive.

Since we are on the washing subject....I am a Z head, just wondering the effects of using another type of car wash other then the Z wash (Megs or other good quality) on a Zaino finish. Will the other car washes cause deterioration of the Zaino?

I think you are supposed to use a wash that does not leave anything behind (ie. no wash and wax type stuff). I use Mother's car wash shampoo on my Zaino finish.

I've found that adding about a 1/2 ounce of Clearkote's Quikshine to my QEW mix improves beading as I wash, especially on cars that haven't been waxed in a while.

I tried putting some of my Meguiar's Quick Detailer in my wash and it felt a lot more lubricated. The shine was the same, but I like the lubrication (which in turn leads to less swirls).

what we would sometimes do in the dealership is add some wax to your wash mit after it has been doused in soapy water then rub it all over.

Better than just regular washing, but not nearly as good as actual waxing.

You can only do this with certain waxes though, and typically, uses a lot of wax and is a waste imo.
