Tree Branch Scratches

I had a guy bring in a truck that was completely covered in tree branch scratches from bottom to top, even the roof. It looked like he had drove it straight through a forrest for a good couple years. Anyway it took about 6 hours to remove all the scratches with a twisted wool pad and the most aggressive compound I had with a rotary. Then I moved on to the finishing process. I didn't touch any wetsand paper because it would take me a year to hand sand that whole truck. But I was thinking of getting some of those 6" wetsanding discs to use on my PC if I come across a situation like that again.

Has anyone made any real use of the 6" wetsanding discs?

I only got one after pic with my cell phone since I didn't have the camera with me:

I did a Suburban in similar condition not too long ago. I started with Trizact 3000 dampsanding first, and it made the job a whole lot easier.

Once drove a car into a hedge, nice move. The result was the left side of the car covered in scratches most were superficial in the top of the clear coat. Started with 2000 grit wet sand by hand followed with 3000 on a 3inch orbital. Then 105 and 205 to remove sand marks and polish, results were excellent.
