I wish . . .
I'm sure some of you will remember when we got the our new 2007 Honda Fit with the plastic still on from the dealer so we could avoid the DIS option??

Well here's an update . . . young Mr. Wonderful took it to Tucson this past weekend & brought it back looking like this . . .

AFTER I had calmed down, we gave it a very gentle wash with DP Xtreme Foam Auto Shampoo & the Foam gun (love that stuff!! :) ), and rinsed very throroughly before we dried it & I was pleased to see that not all the "marring" I had seen at first was due to scratches.

But there are some noticeable scratches in the paint (see above picture) - I can feel that one with my fingernail :( Since I don't have a rotary, I plan to use the "Spot Buffer Kit" that I bought a while ago on these problem areas.

Any other words of advice or encouragement??

Glad to har that damage isn't as bad is you originally thought.

I'm am sure that with some "motherly " love you can get most of the marring out with patience.

The question is how much "extra" housework is this going to cost Bryce

I look forward to the update.

Have you decided on process and product to attack the situation?

Oh man!! Sorry to see that happened Norah, did he use it as an offroad vehicle for hunting gazelles? :( :( Maybe you could get a touch up pen for those deep scratches ..(I know I need one for mine) :bubba

I've seen your work(pics) so I have no doubt the car will look as good as it possibly can.Btw way sorry Bryce used his car for tree pruning. Please let us know the proucts and process you use/d.

What happened, exactly??? I'm sure you can get it looking almost undetectable. Don't get too mad - he's gotta learn from his mistakes.

Kids these days...shezzzz

looks like some wet sanding could help reduce the scratch down...but truly the one pictured looks like you may have to live with at some level....lastly it might serve as a reminder for the young driver not to do that again:)

It doesn't seem to be through the base coat, so I'd recommend using some clearcoat touch-up. That way you aren't removing all the paint around it that would be needed to polish it to a less noticeable level.
